Hello ALL! I see people ALWAYS asking questions about shops, designs, and just where to start! So thought I would type up a blog just to let people know how the process works, I am typing it completely from scratch for someone who wouldn't know where to begin, so if a section does not relate to you maybe one further down might! I also provided a tl;dr question and answer format at the bottom too for any quick glances needed =] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What Is the Shopping Game? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - The Shopping Game allows users to purchase stylish designs for their avatars, including clothing, hair, and accessories. The Shops page acts as the central hub for creativity and customization, giving users the opportunity to express themselves through their virtual characters. You can find it up there at the top of the page in between the Calendar and Games tab, and then it's the first square you are greeted with (the one with a picture of a Pink Mall). Each shop cycle runs for -EXACTLY 3 days- beginning at 21:30 PM KVT (the universal site time displayed at the top of the webpage just above the logo in the top left of your page). The remaining time in a cycle, as well as the current cycle number, can be viewed at the top of the Shops page beneath and beside the Shopping Game heading. During each cycle you will typically see a total amount of 16 shops open, these 16 are made up of 10 PUBLIC SHOPS and 6 GIFTING SHOPS. /// What are Public Shops? \\\ - Public shops are shops that anyone can purchase designs for their virtual avatars from, and appear at the top of the Shops page. Any user is able to purchase from them IF they have the sufficent amount of Koinz for the item they are purchasing. !!!!! Key rules for Public Shops !!!!!!! * Prices for items start at 300 Koinz minimum * There is no maximum price, though extremely high prices may impact sales and your item won't sell * A maximum of 40 total items may be listed per shop, and there is no minimum, however this also will impact sales * Each design you post MUST have at least 1 stock * Stock can be distributed freely (e.g., 40 designs with 1 stock each, or 10 designs with 4 stock each, it just has to add up to 40 at most) * Shop owners receive 20% of each sale, based on the item’s listed price at the time of purchase (So for a 600 Koinz sale you will get 120 Koinz, and a 300 Koinz sale you will recieve 60 Koinz!) To Give An Example: If a shop owner lists one hair design for 300 Koinz, any user with at least 300 Koinz may purchase it. The buyer can check their balance in the top-right corner of the screen or on their profile. The shop owner may still list up to 39 additional items. The shop owner would then receive 60 Koinz for the sale. /// What Are Gifting Shops? \\\ - Gifting shops are the 6 shops which appear at the bottom of the Shops page, and are designed exclusively for what their name would suggest; gifting purposes. !!!!! Key rules for Gifting Shops !!!!!!! * ONLY the shop owner may purchase items that they post. * Prices range from 1 to 200 Koinz, mostly always owners will list items for 1 Koinz so they spend less when gifting items/purchasing items. * A MAXIMUM of 27 total items may be listed * Each design must have AT LEAST 3 stock when posted * Stock distribution must total 27 at maximum (e.g., 9 designs with 3 stock each, or 6 designs with 4 stock and 1 design with 3) * Gifting shop owners DO NOT receive any percentage of sales from their stores. To Give An Example: If a gifting shop owner lists one hair design for 1 Koinz and for 3 of their stock, they are able to buy 1 and gift the remaining 2, or they can gift all 3 of them. The shop owner may still list up to 24 additional items which again, only they can buy and can choose to gift or purchase if they see fit. The shop owner would receive 0 Koinz from these sales. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How Do I Create a Shop? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the top of the Shops page, you will see several yellow buttons, including; My Shops, Auctions, and Create Shop. To create your first shop, click Create Shop. Opening a shop costs exactly 10 Koinz (which is deducted upon completing of creation), and allows you to: * Stock your own designs OR designs you have permission to sell * Set your own prices and stock amounts * Earn Koinz from sales (Public Shops only at a rate of 20% of the sale at the time of purchase) * Bid to keep your shop open each cycle /// Shop Setup Fields \\\ 1. Shop Name You may choose any name that complies with site rules. Some punctuation may be restricted, but removing unsupported characters should resolve any issues. 2. Shop Description This can include anything you like, such as the type of designs you plan to sell (e.g., “Primarily male designs” or “A wide variety of items”), or could be left blank, the choice is yours! 3. OPTIONAL - Gifting Shop Option Selecting this option designates your shop as a Gifting Shop. You will also be reminded of the 200 Koinz pricing limit for items within Gifting Shops. Once you have completed each relevant field, click the button which states Create Shop for 10 Koinz and congratulations! Your shop will be ready to bid on for an opening slot in the next cycle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How Much Does It Cost to Open a Shop Each Cycle? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The cost to open a shop varies every cycle and depends entirely on bidding competition. A good way that a lot of users do to estimate roughly what the current bid amounts are going to be is to message users whose shops are currently open. To do this: * Click the shop owner’s username beneath their shop * Open their profile * Click the Mail icon to send a message You may bid any amount you choose, but ensure you have enough Koinz available. Your balance is visible in the top-right corner of the site and on your profile so double check before typing in your final bid. /// Each Cycle \\\ * The 10 HIGHEST public shop bids will have their public shop open, * The 6 HIGHEST gifting shop bids will have their gifting shop open. Koinz are NOT deducted immediately upon bidding. They are only deducted when a new cycle begins and if your bid is successful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How Do I Open/Manage My Shop? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once your shop is created, return to the Shops page and click the button labelled My Shops. From here you can: * View active and inactive shops * Identify Gifting Shops by the present icon next to the shop name * Click Edit to manage shop settings /// Uploading a Shop Image \\\ From this section, you may upload an image to represent your shop: * Maximum image size: 300 × 300 pixels * File size MUST be under 1MB * All site rules apply and any image deemed inappropriate may lead to account termination. /// Placing a Bid \\ Under the section titled Bid for Shop Opening, enter the amount of Koinz you wish to bid for the current cycle, then make sure to click Place Bid to register your bid for consideration. Bids can be changed at any time before the cycle ends by following the steps above/editing your shop, and submitting a new amount. Bids will ONLY apply to ONE CYCLE. If you want your shop to open again in a future cycle, you must place a new bid. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What If I Bid but Don’t Have Enough Koinz? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If your bid ranks high enough but you do not have sufficient Koinz when the cycle begins, your bid will be SKIPPED and the next eligible bidder will be selected. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How Do I Get Designs for My Shop? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You public/gifting shop may stock: * Designs you personally uploaded * Designs you have purchased permission for * Designs you have been granted permission to sell /// Purchasing Design Permissions \\\ * Go to the Designs tab found on the Shop section at the top of the screen. * Enable the Permissions on Sale filter * Select a design and review the permission cost * Purchase permission to add it to your shop Each purchased permission allows 3 stock to be posted in your shop. Additional stock requires purchasing permission again, so if you wanted to post the item 6 times, you would have to purchase permission for it twice. /// Granting Permissions \\\ Design creators may also grant permanent permission to other users by entering their username in the Design Permissions section of the design. These permissions do not expire and can be posted in any shop cycle (so long as no other shop has posted it first). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How Do I Add Designs to My Shop? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Go to My Shops 2. Click Manage Stock on your active shop 3. Choose the appropriate tab between; * Your uploaded designs * Designs you have permission for 4. Enter the desired stock amount and price underneath the chose design 5. Click Upload You may edit prices at any time after listing by going to the manage stock page. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IMPORTANT REMINDERS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Public Shops * Minimum sale price: 300 Koinz * Maximum items: 40 * Minimum stock per item: 1 * Earn 20% commission * Gifting Shops * Price range: 1–200 Koinz * Maximum items: 27 * Minimum stock per item: 3 * Owner-only purchases * No commission earned * Shops MUST be rebid EVERY cycle to remain open * Always select the GIFTING SHOP option if you intend to open one, otherwise your shop may open as a public one. How much does it cost to create a shop? Creating a shop costs exactly 10 Koinz. This is a one-time cost per shop and is separate from cycle bidding which is deducted immediately after opening. Do I have to bid every cycle? Yes. All shops must be bid on EVERY cycle to open or remain open. Bids do not carry over to future cycles. When are Koinz deducted for a bid? Koinz are deducted ONLY if your bid is SUCCESSFUL, and ONLY when the NEW CYCLE BEGINS. If your bid does not place high enough, no Koinz are taken. What happens if I place a winning bid but don’t have enough Koinz? If you do not have enough Koinz when the cycle begins, your bid is skipped and the next highest eligible bidder is selected. No partial deductions occur. Can I change or cancel my bid? Yes. You can change your bid at any time before the cycle ends by editing your shop and submitting a new amount. The most recent bid is the one that counts. Can I open more than one shop at the same time? No, you are limited to 1 shop per cycle. However, you can open a different shop each cycle (so for example having a public shop in cycle 33, then bid on and have a gifting shop in cycle 34). Can I change my shop type after creating it? No. Once a shop is created as Public or Gifting, its type is locked. To switch types, you must create a new shop. How do I know if my shop is a Gifting Shop? Gifting Shops display a present emoji next to the shop name in the My Shops section. Make sure to double check this before placing your bid. What are the item limits for each shop type? * Public Shops: Up to 40 total items, with a minimum of 1 stock per design. * Gifting Shops: Up to 27 total items, with a minimum of 3 stock per design. What are the price limits on stock? * Public Shops: Minimum 300 Koinz, no maximum * Gifting Shops: Minimum 1 Koinz, maximum 200 Koinz Can I change prices or stock while my shop is open? Yes. Prices and stock amounts can be edited at any time while your shop is active. What happens when an item sells out? Once an item reaches zero stock, it is no longer purchasable unless restocked by the shop owner. Do Public Shop owners earn Koinz from sales? Yes. Public Shop owners earn 20% of the item’s sale price at the time of purchase. Do Gifting Shop owners earn Koinz from sales? No. Gifting Shops do not earn commission of any kind. Can I sell designs I didn’t create? Yes, but only if you have permission. You may sell: * Designs you uploaded yourself * Designs you purchased permission for * Designs where the creator granted you permission How do design permissions work? * Purchased permissions allow 3 stock per purchase * Additional stock requires purchasing permission again * Permissions granted by design owners are permanent and do not expire Can permissions be removed or revoked? Purchased permissions cannot be revoked. Permanently granted permissions are controlled by the design owner and can be removed. What happens to unsold items when a cycle ends? Unsold items are removed when the shop closes. What happens if I forget to bid? If no bid is placed, your shop will not open for the next cycle. Can my shop be closed early? No. Once a shop opens for a cycle, it remains open until that cycle ends. Is there a guaranteed bid amount to open a shop? No. Bidding is competitive and varies each cycle. There is no minimum guaranteed amount to secure a shop slot. Is bidding refundable? No. Successful bids are final once deducted at cycle start. Unsuccessful bids cost nothing. Can I delete a shop? Yes. Shops can be deleted from the **My Shops** section when inactive and ONLY if they have never been opened before. Your 10 Koinz will also be refunded to you. Where can I check my Koinz balance? Your Koinz balance is displayed in the **top-right corner of the site** and on your profile page.
