Long story short- in February I was served papers from the sheriff stating I had to testify in a criminal trial. I was very confused because I did not recognize the names involved. But then I looked up the court docs and saw that I was Witness 1 back in March 2024. I was walking my dogs when this sketchy vehicle was doing shady shit and circling my dogs and I so I called the cops because I was not sure if I was the target or whatever… but turns out, this guy was stalking his ex girlfriend and being abusive and whatnot. I am not gonna get further detailed, but it was a jury trial and everything. So I was like, great, now I gotta testify in court against a man who is a stalker and get involved in this randomness. But the guy took a plea deal so the trial was canceled and I was no longer needed. I’m glad my witnessing possibly had a positive impact on that young woman’s life and she is able to get out of that toxic relationship for good now. I hope the guy gets his shit together (he’s just in his early twenties) and learns from this. So random but I couldn’t blog about it cause it was ongoing but now it’s resolved. It would’ve been my first time so I partly excited but mostly dreading it.
