Robin here back from hiatus. I have opinions that don't matter, but I want to share anyway. The photos of Episode 6 of #DNTM3 have been released, and I'm going to give my thoughts on them because I can. Robin's Wise Thoughts for This Episode: Why so serious????? It is giving "oh no, government, don't hurt poor little giant me vibes. It does give off a larger-than-life atmosphere, BUT one thing that stood out to me was the flooring. It didn't feel natural. It felt flat and not realistic, like you were standing there, which is something I tend to notice in backgrounds in general (in designs) where people make them, and the foot part looks awkward when there should be some flooring as if you were standing there naturally. Maybe if you added some destruction or something around the feet since you are causing a traffic jam, that would have helped with it. I do LOVE the reflection you have with the building. That is such a great detail. The outfit is fine. It is giving I'm about to go perform at a gig later that night which makes me think this photo is more of a promo for a gig you have for a club (which I would go to and give you lots of money). Maybe if the entire outfit was fringe like, would be interesting. Also glad you are looking at the camera :P 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Of course! Those boots alone could pierce them in a heartbeat. Goomybear (Last Round Placement: 14th) Larger Than Life: 🟨 Pose: 🟨 Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 This is an interesting photo, and I think you took some risks in this, and some were hits and misses. Your photo was a perspective type because clearly you are not larger than the actual buildings, BUT the perspective/angle of the shot makes it seem like that, and I applaud the creative choice with that. I just think you could have altered the angle a bit more and I am worried that maybe the judges may not like that (I tried something like this on my season and I that was the round I got the boot which sadly was my fav photo LOL). The pose is interesting; I am not a fan of the bottom part; it feels a bit awkward, especially the leg portion. It feels a bit awkward and looks like someone hit you with a car and your legs got messed up. I do like the top half, but I wish you had done something better with the bottom half. I do like the outfit, especially the contrast between the bright colors and the black-and-white background. I think that was a smart choice. With the photo overall, I do think you had a good idea; just some execution ideas. Another thing that bothered me was the feet. The left shoe had a wonky design, and the right foot looked weird, like it wasn't a foot at all. Besides that, I do like the direction you were going; just those little things brought it down for me. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Probably not, you probs accidently trip and fall and hurt yourself before Godzilla has a chance to attack. Sam (Last Round Placement: 10th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: 🟨 Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 I like the concept of this photo. It does give a very larger-than-life situation clearly, so that is good, and I do like the outfit. The yellow looks great on you. The pose is interesting. I think the biting of the car is an interesting touch. I wish it looked a bit more realistic, because it is giving off more of a toyish look, which ruins the illusion (which is ironic, cause you are a giant, but still). I think your face is good for what you are doing but the rest of your body is just there. Maybe have the other hand in the jacket pocket or something. It can't be lifeless, but not too much. Overall, the photo is good; I like how the angle is and how the background is used. There is a flat surface, and we can tell so that is good. I see that the left foot looks awkward. I can't tell if it is a pant leg or the shoe. It looks much different than the right foot, which again, those minor details will start to add up. Good job! 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Maybe. You probably say "yeah I could" but you could just be joking. Dailyicon (Last Round Placement: 12th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: 🟨 Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 This is really good, and I think a good example of what the prompt was asking. I'm going to start with my concerns, which is that there is TOO MUCH GOLD. It is very overwhelming, and it is hard to focus on specific things (maybe for me personally). It just makes it a bit hard to see you. I am not a fan of the multiple photos of you all around the background. I think I understand the reasoning because you turned the street into your own personal runway (which I love that concept), but I think maybe putting the DNTM logo or other ads would have been better than just you because what if there was a pose there that I like that was better than the main you? That would have been awkward. Luckily, though, your main pose I really like. Very dominant and powerful. You are owning the runway. I'm a bit mixed on the hand holding onto the building; I would rather it look like you are still walking, but that is just a small nitpick. Overall, good job; just more variety in the color choices (if you were going to do gold, maybe different shades at least) and a few other small choices. I wonder how you would look if you had the jacket in a neon white... 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Yeah. You got those combat boots, so you are ready to fight and win. There is too much pink, and it is hard to focus on something because I feel very overwhelmed with it. Honestly, just read what I said to Daily because your photo has very similar elements to his (billboard, outfit style, overwhelming color), which is a bit of a concern because it is more of who did the idea better. I do like the pose, especially with one foot on top of the building. It opens you up very well, but I wish there was some chaos happening in the background like cars swerving or something because it looks like you were photoshopped in because nobody is reacting to it. At least with Daily's, people are reacting to him being there. I wish I can say more, but seeing Daily's right after yours is giving deja vu and I hate that this happened. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: No because if Daily already defeated Godzilla then you can't really defeat them if they are already down. Bosslady (Last Round Placement: 13th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: ✅ 🟢 This is really great! I love the story that this shows of you just treating this city like your own runway, not giving a care what is happening and causing mass destruction. "Oh did I destroy that corporation that doesn't treat their staff right? Boo hoo." I really appreciate the reaction to you being in the photo. It gives realism which is something that I think is missing in some of the photos I have seen so far. You can't just be placed there and call it a day, it needs to be natural (which is ironic cause you are a giant but still). I love the pose and how your hair flows in the wind. A very nice action shot and with the sunset background it is very striking. Part of me thinking maybe you just won a battle or something and you are walking away from it with some fierce victory music. The outfit is nice too! This is a great fire lit under your ass photo after being in the bottom and clearly shows that you may have a bad round, but do not count you out in this competition because you will claw your way back to the top. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Yes, Godzilla regretted messing with you. Lewis (Last Round Placement: 6th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: 🟨 Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: ✅ 🟢 I like the concept of this photo, especially being in the water. The effect that it brings is very nice! I love the outfit, and the green pops very well with the lighting and the pinkish purple background color. The pose is fine, but there is something with the angle of your face. It feels very distant, and I think maybe it is the position of the photo. I think you were trying to showcase power and dominance with it, but you almost got it. Part of me wishes you had a prop like a nice can so your other hand had something to do and give it more oomph, but idk how the judges would feel about it (I would have liked it). I love the outfit, especially the ripples (I think that is what it is called) on the pants. The jacket is very nice and the fingerless gloves nice touch that have a nice pop with the pink nails. Overall, the photo is very nice. Very cinematic with the setting, and I also love how your hair flows with the wind. It gives me an idea of what is going on in the setting, kind of a cool crispy night. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Yes, Shablam them! Torimarie (Last Round Placement: 3rd) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: ✅ 🟢I came here from outer space, a planet called 808 In the Galaxy of Funk, where the robots gravitate. I love this! Larger than life, CHECK! The pose I adore. So elegant and sexy. It is more cinematic than powerful, but this gives a modern version of the reference image I used in the beginning of the post (but better). I just love how relaxed you look in this and the outfit looks so great with your skin and how it just gently lays smoothly on the scenery. So beautiful (this needs to be a design). I also love the shine/glow on your legs. Oiled up for the gods. The background is great and even the details of the reflection in the building is great as well. The only thing I wish was a bit better was the helicopter that was behind you. I wish it was above you, with the light on top of you, treating it like a spotlight. That would be really nice, but besides that, great job! 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: No, because Godzilla would see you and be like WOW I couldn't fight you and then they would just leave. Tisha (Last Round Placement: 4th) Larger Than Life: 🟨 Pose: ✅ Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 I really admire this photo, and I think you have very great ideas. It is just some technical things that you tend to have a bit of an issue with that I hope you can continue to improve on because you can be a powerhouse in this competition. The one thing that really threw me off was just the lighting, You are surrounded by a lot of blue and you just made the quality a bit eh with the darkness and it needed to be lighten up a little. At first I thought you were at a nightclub but then I saw the background (which I love) and I was like oh. I think maybe more like purple/pink could have help and more light focus on you to make it pop would have helped. This seems to be a common issue with some of the photos of people getting swallowed by overwhelming of the same color. The pose is really great but I'm not getting larger than life. I'm getting someone posing on top of a building with perspective maybe looking like you are a "City Giant". It is kinda giving a Catwoman type of vibe. If you zoomed out a bit more than maybe it would look more like you are bigger than the building. The photo is good, but not what the prompt was asking. If the prompt was like "Night City" "Nightlife" then you would have gotten a full Green Check on that part. Overall, keep on the momentum; I really want you to get a Top Photo of the week because it will be so well deserved because you keep on working hard. Almost at the bullseye. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: No, because you aren't a giant, so Godzilla would turn you into dust but you are smart and would avoid that fight. Honey (Last Round Placement: 6th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: ✅ 🟢 Oooo I really like this. The first thing that stood out to me was the pose. I love it! It is very striking and I love the wallclimb type you did with it. It opens you up so well and it a nice action shot. Your face is very striking and it is really great! The way the photo is positioned helps show the larger-than-life atmosphere because of the size of the building and everything. I think it was a great way to execute the prompt with over exaggerating it. The lighting is very well lit. I mentioned this with Tori, but I wish the helicopter was above you to give you a spotlight, but that would be a me thing, idk if others would like it, but overall great job! I think the only big negative think is maybe the outfit. The color is great but idk if the outfit is full high fashion. I do love the holes and slips, but honestly that wouldn't be a deal breaker for ME. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Yes. You would do a surprise attack. You did a nice job with the larger-than-life atmosphere and the pose of going through the city. Everything had a purpose, and I like that. Your facial features were good, too. I can see power and control in what you were doing. You feel confident in what you were doing as you were maneuvering through the city. I'm a bit mixed on your outfit. I'm not a fan of the color. The blue could give off neon vibes but I think maybe the day setting (which I really love the atmosphere that it brought) throws the color off. Maybe an orange or yellow would have fit better with the day setting. If it were nighttime, I could see the blue working well, especially if the city lights illuminated the outfit more. I like the shoes and pants, but maybe change the jacket into something button-up with a style/texture. I feel that would have been better than the plain-colored jacket with the undershirt, cause when I think "bright, bold neon outfits," that doesn't fit, especially in blue. Besides that, I think the detail choices of the background, as mentioned before, were good, and I appreciate the ads of other people in the city instead of just you because it loses the focus on the main you with different variations PLUS the ads of the other models are there BUT not stealing the spotlight, so it makes the picture feel natural (minus the giant you) 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Yes. You would cut them with your words. Thiii (Last Round Placement: 1st) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: ✅ Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 This is a fine picture. You are very bold in this photo, which is good because I think the background environment is kind of dull. City atmosphere is a common theme I am noticing with the photos, and I think yours might be the weakest. While some may have had their issues with color blocking and other elements, at least there was something going on, while I feel like nothing is happening in yours, not even in the sky, which is a bummer. BUT it doesn't push your photo as a "bad" photo because some parts of the environment are helpful, especially with the pose, because I do like it. To me, it looks like you might be fighting someone and this is like a pose of you getting back up or you were waiting for them. Something about it is fascinating. I would say "open up more," but the angles you have are interesting, so I am fine with it. It also gives vibes of you playing Twister. Left hand on that building, Right foot on that one lol. You have a very serious face, which gives it some power, which makes me wish you had something going on in the background to help showcase it more (like why so serious?) I like the outfit, and it does pop out well in the night background, so good job on that, and I love the little snippets of skin that show up. Probably a pain of an outfit to get on, but a hell of a time when wearing it. It could be me, but I do think the texture on the back foot might look a bit different from the texture on the upper foot (the back looks fuzzy while the right is smoother), so just be aware of those small things. Something may be "hidden," but it can be a big eyesore if some detail is off. Again, it could be me, and I could be wrong, but it's still helpful advice in general. 👊Woop Godzilla's Ass?👊: Maybe, it will be a close fight. Seong (Last Round Placement: 8th) Larger Than Life: ✅ Pose: ✅ Styling: 🟨 Overall Photo: 🟨 🟢 This photo is giving Purple Bracket All Stars 10/11 (more 11) realness, especially with your name being shown at the bottom LOL. I like this photo! First, the outfit looks great! I love the chains, which help the purple stand out a bit more and let us see the structure of the outfit a bit more, especially in that pose, BUT I wish we could see the shoes because I am having trouble seeing them. I think I see them, but they blend in with either the pants or the buildings, which is why I had to give them a yellow box. I know you make great designs and I think this would be something that would be great to publish (plus I can see the dam shoes LOL). The irony is that in the last couple of photos, you really love showing your feet (nothing wrong with that), so now you're hiding them lol. Also, I love the glasses; I just wish you had a gold chain on them. Maybe you do, but I am having trouble seeing that too :(. The pose is good and fits the style of your outfit really well and you holding the plane is so neat! It is kinda giving me like you are holding it like a cigarette (don't know if that was your vision, but that is how I see it), which, if that was, then I wish you added a bit of smoke in the back to help with that imagery/symbolism. I just think that is a neat detail with the Larger than Life concept and how I picture the theme when I saw the prompt. Overall, the photo is nice; I just wish you had something in the upper part of the photo, even if it was just some stars or something. I think once Top 10 happens, that is when you need to start taking every single thing you get and considering it in your looks (you should always, but that is probs crunch time in a cast of 18), because every point matters and the safety net is slowly being removed.
