This is not a defense of anybody I’ve been saying this since like 2014. Let’s all agree on one thing first: the format is a popularity contest. The players don’t evict people, the public does. Any #gamer like myself and dino knows this and accepts this going into the game. The most controversial flavor in TG history was someguy123. He apparently did absolutely nothing in his Stars and got nominated every day and won the game. Why? Because it’s a popularity contest and he won. But let’s dig a bit deeper as to why the public supports players who are always nominated. 2 main reasons plus my view as an OG Stars strategist. 1. As human beings most of us identify with the underdog. When people think to David vs Goliath most people connect more with David. Life is hard and there are forces outside our control that push us down. Seeing somebody overcome adversity is something we like to see. Furthermore it feels like a public “movement” because we the people are uniting to show support. So if you ARE going to play just to avoid the block, the tradeoff to safety is giving up the underdog status and potentially giving it to someone else. 2. Let’s remember that Celebs/Stars is a popularity contest. The winner and evictions are decided by the public, not the players. A naive player will think that if they play a good enough game then the public will see that and reward it. But how is the public supposed to know everything you’ve done in the game. If your plan is to write a long blog or record a long vlog to discuss your game, you are missing the point and most voters don’t have the attention for that. As a player you have to accept that your power is limited to the nominations. In your mind, you’re playing well and avoiding off the block. At the same time, the current nominees are getting the public attention since they are focusing on staying in the game. One player is embracing the popularity aspect and the other player is denying it. If you want someone out, you have to make a smart nom set to do it. OR you have to beat them yourself. Nominating someone repeatedly shows a level of naivety in just trying the same thing over and over then expecting different results. I think that’s what they call crazy MY reason I support flavors: Stars and Celebs are pretty hard but they’re not THAT hard. If you’re playing to avoid the block every week you are playing scared. The game is so much more complex than “whoever is nominated the least should win.” Your goal as a player is to create a narrative and a campaign that will get you to the end and win. It’s as simple as that. If you play in fear of touching the block then you’re missing out on like 70% of the actual gameplay which is with the public. Additionally, my mindset is that if I can lose a poll I’m probably not gonna win. so why should I fear nominations when public support is the name of the game. Being nominated gives you easy access to the public, and if you’re smart you will use that time to build a strong campaign to win. TLDR: Your only goal as a celebrities player should be to WIN. Avoiding nominations can get you to final 3, but you’ll probably lose the game if you let someone else hold all the spotlight. Flavoring a person (nomming them like 5 or more times) is the easiest way to lose the game. As someone who has lost Stars to the “flavors” I created, I can’t blame the entire voting public for my loss. If you lose to the flavor you created, that is your strategic error in playing a popularity contest. You can blog until your fingers bleed about how people shouldn’t reward bad gameplay, and I’m gonna comment saying that creating flavors IS bad gameplay. Voting patterns and psychology will probably not change. If you’re not participating in the repeat nominations then DO SOMETHING to stand out. If you want to give someone 100% of the spotlight in a popularity contest, that’s your problem and your mistake. #gamertalkwithamandasings

We have lost the ancient relics and the true definition of a "flavor". For this specific game, it's not like Gabs has gone up 500 times, Gabs has gone up 3 times out of a possible 9, and every time someone would just go as far as breathing his name in his direction he would take it to the blogs page and start a fight. Mind you, I was not involved in the nomination of Gabs against Ricardo either. I told people it would come off as xenophobic because targeting a non-English duo with 13 people left for the sole reason that they are a duo just doesn't look right. At this point in time though, it makes it hard to not just consider flavoring someone that gets videos by Abi-Maria, and waves the "Brazilian vote" in people's faces as an intimidation tactic to vote with them. I'm playing Celebrities strategically for survival because popularity will never be my strong suit. I think it's a perfectly valid way to play the game too, and I've been doing it well thank you <3

Im sorry to be such a contrarian, Stars can be a popularity contest, but it doesn't have to be! It is up to the public to decide what each stars is, and from my experience of playing 80 stars. I think it usually winds up being a strategy contest. I have always been grossed out by the idea of everyone mindlessly flocking to hand the win to a flavor. It's giving mega "Follow The Leader" Vibes. I don't see any beauty in an overwhelming favorite, I do however see a lot of beauty in the underdogs trying to fight and to find a way to overcome the odds. Why is it such a common theme to reward the person that can't escape the block over the person who pulled all the strings?

trigger warning: health shit my college bestie had been struggling with IBS and PCOS. she’s 25 and went and got a colonoscopy and they found 3 precancerous polyps which would’ve become cancer in 5-10 years. she’s very healthy and fit btw she convinced to get me one (i was getting a surgery anyway and my mom had polyps) and got it today. anyway, i also had 4 precancerous polyps which got removed ofc. am pretty healthy and have been at a good weight since freshman year of college. anyway, my point here is for those who have access to healthcare please go get checked. american food (even our fruits and veggies) and corporate greed is killing us all. it’s one of the few preventable cancers via early detection but doctors sometimes won’t take your symptoms seriously because you’re “too young”. i believe the standard age for screening is 55 for healthy ppl and 45 with family history. honestly, it should be a lot lower for certain folks but insurance companies don’t want to pay for it. Dear stayc: I plead guilty for using Pinterest and AI to design. The blonde layered hairstyle with bangs I agree that it is practically the same. As for the braid and the ponytail, they are nothing alike, except that they are a braid and a ponytail. This afternoon I also clarified with another user a similar issue with an outfit that I had recently designed and luckily I still knew where the Pinterest reference was. I do not intend to have any type of conflict with you or anyone and I cannot force you to believe my word but I do not like to be falsely accused at a time when almost everyone uses AI and we all know that although it makes the job easier it follows certain patterns and can create practically identical designs. We are out kayaking for my friends birthday, and my kayak had holes and the inside filled up with water and slowly started filling and noticed it started to capsize (and it did officially flip over) Thankfully I had a life jacket, and my friends acted very fast along side this family from Mass who let me dock my kayak, my friend and obviously myself at their dock. They took me into their camp, gave me a bunch of layers to bundle up in and stay warm and truthfully I was so scared. I had to swim over 2 miles to make it to safety and the water was so cold. I’m grateful for everyone who acted so fast.

Some things could be improved: 1.154 points in the final, the difference in the final is too much. It's essentially "resetting the points" and determining the winner based solely on the final challenge, not on their overall performance, which somewhat loses its meaning in this way. A final of 3 is enough. sin Still, I found this new mode much better than all the previous four.
