The Challenge Rankings: Part 2

Hello again! Yesterday we started off the list with the boring seasons of the show. There isn't an outright awful season of The Challenge because the drama is always high. The next entries on this list will be the seasons I deem subpar. 40. Season 27(Battle of the Bloodlines): It will always be memorable for being Cara Maria's first win. Man was it a messy for all the wrong reasons. The whole Cara and Abe situation is so bad for so many reasons. At the time I loved Abe, but now I completely understand why Cara did what she did. It also proved that family members of good cast members, don't always equal good cast members themselves. 39. Season 39(Battle for a New Champion): This was a great concept, but poor execution. They could have brought in actual memorable people that had never been Champion before. They just filled it with people from the previous seasons and boring rookies. Just was a bad casting decision all around. 38. Season 41(Vets vs. New Threats): We actually got some memorable new cast members from this season. That's all I can say positively about it though. The drama was bland, the challenges were meh. The winners were deserved though. 37. Season 38(Ride or Dies): The Challenge was desperate to find new blood with this era. Unfortunately they didn't find it because reality stars just aren't as captivating as they once were. The viewers want the old school nature of drama and fights. That's why we all clamor for the old school players. Hopefully production changes their view on players. 36. Season 36(Double Agents): Once again, they brought a big cast of newer players and it flopped. This is also the era of Big Boy CT and he either flopped or won the show, it is never in between. I'm also not a fan of the cold environments for the show. I think when you put them in hot locations, you get better drama. Not sure why, but it usually happens. 35. Season 14(Inferno 3): If you have a season where Ace makes the finale, you have a rough season. This is also the final season where you have Good Guy Bananas. This also felt like the shift from true old school challenge where it's like summer camp, into the actual competition show it becomes. Also, why too much sexual harassment on this season. 34. Season 26(Battle of the Exes 2): Oh man, this is such a rough watch. Knowing that the reason Diem is medically removed is because she is dying and seeing CT just be her hero is tear jerking. This is the end of the greatest love story in reality show history. Losing Knight not long after was a massive gut punch too. The actual season is BS for the redemption house stuff that they did. Wes and Theresa dominated the season and then get screwed by an awful twist. Good for Sarah though. 33. Season 32(Final Reckoning): It was just too much. I hate redemption houses for the most part and they did it to death this season. Also, bringing in more and more pairs as the season went on was dumb as fuck. The finale made no sense and Hunter earned more points than Ashley, but knew what would happen if they chose her instead. The Zach and Amanda thing was the dumbest thing I've ever seen. 32. Season 28(Rivals 3): What a way to follow up on two of the all time great seasons with the first 2 rivals. This season suckedddddddddddd. Once again production manufactured an ending. Sarah scored more points than Bananas in that final, but knew Bananas was going to steal it all. Also, this should have been like the previous Rivals with same sex pairs because that would have been fun to watch. Imagine Bananas and Wed having to work together and then Bananas stealing the money from Wes in the end. See? Already a more fun ending lol. 31. Season 18(The Ruins): WARNING!!! I'm going to be discussing behind the scenes stuff a lot because it's what makes this season be down so low. In case you aren't aware, Kenny and Evan sexually assault Tonya with Wes' toothbrush during the season. It leads to a massive lawsuit and is why all three have lifetime bans from the show because of the settlement they reached out of court. The only reason anything was done is because Susie blew the whistle on it or else production would have done nothing. I can't watch the season again knowing what I know what happens.
