what happens when ai images/videos become indistinguishable from real life, which we are getting really close to being at that point? are we just all going to collectively stop believing anything we see online?

my job is embracing AI and we are trying to encorporate it into every single function. I will admit I do use it to help with my meeting recaps and keep track of due dates, but otherwise I am really hesitant.
