elo based lobbies??
there's just going to be a group of high ranked players that work together every game and then just shoot to the top lol. since they'll all be in the same games every time. and then why would these people ever betray each other when they know they'll see them in a game again? :skull:

This isn’t possible. The same amount of elo is lost as is won per game.

Sin There’s also some variability with matchmaking, you can find yourself in a low or high elo game if you’re somewhere in between
Sin oh wait okay i like that better i thought it was just like the top 11, middle 11, and bottom 11. but what i was saying is if its like that then the same 4-5 people will just work together every game for the top people and always rank towards the top and make it virtually impossible for the others to pass them. i like the idea of playing with random and different people more cause it will get repetitive and honestly exhausting playing with the same exact people over and over again
Yup tho that’s kinda a problem for most elo based matchmaking systems, you could also argue that you just need to get a group of 6 friends with high elo and artificially improve your elo. Instant matchmaking sacrifices equity but equitable matchmaking sacrifices time waiting for games
Amandasings04 right but most other elo based match making systems have communities with 10s of thousands of people so its not really an issue seeing the same people in the same game... and even then most other ones arent games where you team up on people
100% i think it should just be fully random because i joined 2 games tonight that had friend groups in both since theyre similar elo and it fucked me right away. when the games just randomly put people in the most that were there were 2 people who were kinda close together not 3+ i also think the first round shouldnt be random comp winners they should have a 4 minute period to do round 1 comps before the game "starts"
papa yeah its just going to be the same friend groups over and over again who play all day LMAO
papa unless it's your friend group
i guess the thought is that if they're all together they will have to turn on each other earlier than they would with randoms
