Because I've become occupied with dev and admin work to be able to take in all of the hundreds of great (but often contradictory) suggestions that come in, so the kouncil will be my eyes and ears to voice what the people want to me. It doesn't mean they'll be able to change whatever they want, but ideally they will represent the website's consensus on certain things.
