Classroom "Survivor"
might be my big one as a teacher. I start by splitting them into tribes and they have some sort of (educational) game that determines which tribe is immune. Then I spin a wheel of names to select 2 students to face off in some sort of flash challenge (puzzle, custom wordle, etc). Loser is eliminated, winner continues in the game. It sounds a bit dull as I'm typing it but the students get real into it! we just started a new semester and one of my classes is excited for our classroom survivor :) alsooo if anyone has any ideas I could steal for this, my ears are open!

I remember in high school my teacher did something similar with the Survivor theme, there were never tribals that got one person eliminated tho it was more we got split into 5 tribes, one tribe got immune, and the other tribes faced it out, and the last tribe to finish the task got eliminated. Your idea seems more fun lol

mmm its cute but from an education standpoint wouldn't eliminating a kid basically eliminate their engagement entirely? like this would be a good like 4 minute beginning of class activity just to do a quick round and then move on with whatever else was going on in the day, but making like a longer situation out of it for a day lesson feels like you'd lose interest. Maybe its over a long period of time I am not sure! I do love the idea I just feel like baking it into the normal part of the school day would be hard/lose engagement.
DakotaMagic yeah each "season" is 4-5 weeks! they still participate in "challenges" like i have prizes for individual winners anyway (unrelated to the game) and if they do any "reward challenges" they can bet on the winning team and win with them kinda vibe
