Moderation.

Sin 3 hours ago95 views

In recent weeks, there has been a rising trend of moderation being blamed for enforcing rules that the community and I have set. On the previous website, that was understandable because the moderators were not supervised. On this platform, I am actively ensuring that moderation is acting in accordance with the rules they are set to enforce, and I am here to appeal any decisions or handle any complaints users may have against moderators. Yes, it would be nice if we could have “third-party moderators,” but we do not have a UFO that can abduct random netizens and force them to moderate our platform. So for now, we’re making do with what we have: a team of moderators (supervised by me) who have done a reasonably decent job of keeping this platform safe and allowing me to focus on development of the website. As for design rules, which have recently become a hot topic: they have been in place for some time, and the recent moderation decision to not permit full-face designs is in accordance with the rules that were set. After reviewing the issue of Brookie’s makeup designs, I stated I would be allowing them while I had a discussion around the design rules. The moderators did not “create rules” that did not exist and do not have a hidden agenda, as some of the conspiracies being floated around are claiming. TL;DR: If you want to take your anger out on somebody, blame me. I’m the only person who should be held responsible for how well this website is running. The moderators are volunteers and owe me nothing. If they are lacking direction, it is because I did not provide it. I am a bit spread thin at the moment and I apologise for that, working on Royale, Valentine’s Flames, etc., but I am more than happy to spend my time refining design rules if that is what the website feels is important at this moment.

So let me get this straight: a user broke a very clearly outlined rule, and complained that moderation enforced it? 😂

Kiss While rule may have been "on paper" and a grey area, if we look at the designs uploaded over the last few weeks, even months, DOZENS break these "rules". And still continue to, and none of these designs have ever been removed or given warnings. Yet when someone who is actively competing in designs/shops uploads something, it suddenly is an urgent matter that is addressed without being confirmed by Sin. The issue with moderation is deeper than designs. I have said since the tengaged days moderation of peers will work well.

brookie You broke the rules. You were reported. The moderator asked me what they should do and I was asleep so they took a precautionary stance which was 100% the correct thing to do. I completely stand by the decision of the mods and if you have an issue with that, then your issue isn't with moderation but with the website itself. You claim to have seen previous designs that had also broken this rule, but nowhere does it show that you reported them. Since mods are volunteers, they're not expected to sift through every design that gets posted - a big part of moderation is trusting that users will both follow the rules, and call out when rules are broken. You did neither. If you have an actual complaint against moderators, you're more than welcome to DM me. I have already reached out to you which you have ignored but have taken to the blogs page again to spread the conspiracy theory that you are being targetted for having a shop, which is not true because the Shops Game is no longer a competition and has not been for a long time - there is quite literally no incentive to what you are claiming.

Sin I woke up 20 minutes, had multiple mails, looked at the blogs page to read/fine two blogs you made since last night and commented from there. Noted, I decide to continue playing further, I will be on a witch hunt and report anything I see that may be against a rule or a grey area. #KeepKovazeSafe

brookie I can't even type coherently because I'm laying in bed with 1 eye open 💀 Out of all of the true "hate blogs" i've been the last few weeks, i'm shocked mine was what sparked such an outrage. Mine wasn't even a hate blog, just "venting" my feelings as you said, and mentioning that it felt targeted. And that doesn't dismiss the dozens of users who feel the same about moderation. That's fine if you don't think so, but our feelings are still recorded.
