Has anyone managed to even find one since the update? There’s literally a .018% chance of clicking the right square and you literally sabotage yourself using up water to hunt while your food goes down, & penalty goes up.

I think you mean 1.8% chance. And that's only for the first search. Second search is 1/54, third is 1/53, etc. Odds are even better if you can split the map with your allies and coordinate your searches.
