DNTM4 - Episode 2 OPINIONS

RobbieRIOT      ❤ 71    ▲6

I lovedddddddddd seeing others give feedback on our photos last season, so I decided I will do the same (when I can). I will try to keep this as positive as possible and offer advice on prompts/utilizing AI. Please do not take anything to heart, as these are just my opinions, but I also know how hard you guys work on these photos! Missmiranda - Ok, girl that KNEECAP IS A THING OF NIGHTMARES LMAO My eyes immediately went to it, and it threw me off for a second. However, the picture in general is gorgeous. I'm a big fan of the background you chose and want to encourage you to keep that energy moving forward, because backgrounds are super important. LOVE the red pop of the top. Try prompts like "Fix and smooth out the kneecaps, but change nothing else about this photo" if you have issues with editing. Overall, this is a solid 7/10. tjamal9106 - Beautiful choice of color and outfit. The background matching is almost too matchy-matchy for me, but it DOES work in this instance. Face card is fire, but could use a bit more "modelesque" energy. Try prompts like "Give me other options for emotion in the face." to generate multiple options at once. This was a big help for me. It is a good picture overall. 8/10 Manon - What an interesting and lovely choice of colors you chose for this shot! I absolutely love that shade of deep mauve/almost red on the balloon and how it catches in the colors of the dress as well. I very much look forward to your makeover, as I am not keen on this hair. Something about the bangs looks like a wig to me, but the face is THERE. The background in this image doesn't make a lot of sense to me, nor does it add anything to the overall story, so I would encourage you to use some prompts like "Give me options for an entirely different background" just to test it out. 7/10 for me! Vanili - Oh bitchhhhhhhh this is gorgeous. The background, that dress, that hair color against the balloon color. Something is off about the balloon texture to me, and it looks like you're just holding on to some oversized green grapes. The matte finish is unique, but it does take me out of the shot JUST slightly. But you are absolutely someone who knows what you're doing. There's an effortlessness to this image that is very refreshing. 8.5/10 Zee_ What lovely colors you chose! Regal, royal, and genuinely pleasing to look at. I love that you went in a direction that is almost like a marionette puppet being pulled by each limb. Some of the strings from the balloons connect to, well, nothing really, and I think that's an easy fix if you were to use prompts like "Clean up the balloon strings to make sure they are accurately attached to the model, but change nothing else about this image". The face is good. I like it more the longer I look at it. 7.5/10 Amandasings04 - Lmao ok bitch I see you. I love a girl with a story to tell, and you have a very clear image of what that story is exactly. I think you executed your own theme within the theme perfectly without losing touch of the overall ACTUAL theme of the balloons, etc. My issue with your model is that her face still reads a bit too cartoonish for my taste. I don't know if this is on purpose and you WANT her face to be a little camp/fake, and if that is the case, I will take it into consideration in the future while doing critiques. Not every model in this game has to look like a REAL PERSON, per se, but you do look more like a video game character than a model. Regardless, it's a yes for me overall with a solid 7/10 Marilise - What a gorgeous model. I am instantly excited to see what Dimitra has in store for your makeover because you already look the part, but I think your look can absolutely be elevated. Your choices of color and dress remind me of a traditional quinceañera, same with the background choice. There's a lot of movement in this photo, and more importantly, it's the movement that makes sense, so well done. This is a very solid photo, and I'd give it an 8.0/10 Marquis - Stunnnnnnnnnnninggggggggggggg. I am captivated by this photo. The colors, the pose, the hair, everything is working for me. The face is a bit safe and boring; however, with so much going on in a shoot like this, I am willing to overlook it in this instance. IMO this is the best image so far this week for me, and I don't have any genuine critiques. Maybe a less purple background in the clouds and more of a "golden hour" lighting? But that's just nitpicking. WELL done. 9/10 Fireflyyy - Listen, I am the QUEEN of thinking outside the box. I did it so much in my season, but I actually let it trip me up a few times because the ideas that I had didn't always come out the way I thought they would in my head. That's what I think happened here for you. I can 100% see what you were going for with the hot air balloons, and I think maybe focusing on just ONE balloon instead of three may have made more sense. The chains are a nice touch, but it's very hard to tell where they start and where they begin and whether or not they are actually holding her up or part of her dress. Your model's face, however, is giving me what I am missing from a lot of your competitors. 6.5/10 for me, but I see the vision. LeQuishaQ - Whew, talk about a stunning face. Def. one of my favorites with the face card. I love the overall aesthetic of this photo and the story you are telling. It all makes sense and turns it into a gorgeous photo. The gold strands in the hair is doing a lot of lifting, however, to differentiate between the hair color and the background color. It's hard to see your actual hair in this shot, so I would encourage you to play with different lighting. This could be a night shot without it being black as night outside, if that makes sense. The carnival lighting, being a similar gold to your outfit and balloons, is also something I would have played with because it's a bit matchy-matchy, but these are just little things in an overall stunning photo. 8/10 easily. GuiltyAsSin - Black on black on black is HARD to pull off. I lost your balloons a little bit, and wish there was a bit more definition to them, but I mean, come on, this photo is breathtaking lol. Your model is giving the EXACT kind of face I struggled so hard with during my season, so I am equal parts jealous and happy for you! LOL. The legs, the pose, it just works so well. It's interesting to me that you are inside as well...a risk that definitely paid off as more of your opponents are outside. This is a solid 8.5/10 for me. Melanie - Wow, my initial reaction to this is "This is so cool." The pose is what I'd expect for this type of photoshoot, so a bit safe, but not in any way bad. The balloons having a glow to them is a nice touch and differentiates yours from the rest of the pack. There is something strange about the highlight surrounding your hair; however, as if there is a light source behind her, we are missing. However, all we see behind you are clouds. You have some finger issues as well on that right hand, but it's dark enough to not really notice. 7.5/10 SpaceLab - I love Greece and wish you leaned more into the scenery of the buildings in the background as opposed to the water, but I immediately know where you are and what you're about. The pose and face for me, however, are a bit bland. IMO it's harder for the male models to look interesting, so you're going to have to find ways to make sure your face is GIVING because this man is fineeeeeee. Parts of the jacket don't make sense to me as well, specifically the top shoulder with the blue seemingly just coming out of nowhere, as opposed to the bottom of the jacket that slowly transitions to the blue. There's potential here for sure. 6.5/10 cupidstunt - Okay bitch I see you. This photo is fantastic. The bunching of the strings at your ankle is kind of bothersome, but the concept is there, and the execution is as well. Your model's face is so unique and stunning. Make sure your future prompts keep that exact face in mind, as it can be really easy for AI to start warping your face. You don't want that with THAT face. It's perfect. This background is an A for me, and overall, this is easily one of the best of the round. 8.5/10 Antog - So right off the bat, I have the same issue with your model as I do with Amanda's in the sense that she doesn't necessarily look like a real person, but rather a video game character or an anime character. This is not a bad thing, especially if it's a choice you are making on purpose, which I will respect. Out of almost everyone this round, this image looks the most AI, which is not a great thing. Your windup girl has 4 arms, for example, lmao. Watch out for those things in the future. 6/10 for me! Fancy - Ending with the same sort of comment I gave Antog, in that your model looks like he belongs in a video game and not a magazine. Not a bad thing, just not what I respond to for this particular game. That being said, there's a lot of potential with this model. Unfortunately, the posing and set design look a bit too "set up" like a photoshoot and not like a natural environment. This is a miss for me, but I am thrilled to see you get another shot next week because I can absolutely see this model doing well with the right themes and work! 6/10 #DNTM4

DNTM4 Photoshoot 3 Review

Goomybear      ❤ 28    ▲2

#DNTM4 Overall this week there were some hits and some misses. The theme was a bit stale, so I was really looking for people to take it and elevate it to something exciting and a few got the memo. Keep in mind my scores will likely be lower than the real judges. My system is based on the 4 categories as well as my numbers follow this: 9-10 are reserved for OUTSTANDING things that are top tier, 7-8 are really good, 6 is good but missing something extra, 5 is weak but could have still been OK with small tweaks, 4 is a major miss, 3 or below I think is reserved for true WTF moments. MissMiranda Pose: 5 Face: 8 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 You are serving face that’s for sure, even with the dripping makeup. I just think the pose was a bit lack luster. I understand what you were going for with the background but I don’t know if it really makes sense for this photo. Instead of giving a penalty for brief I just lowered the composition score because I think the background just takes away from the photo a bit. Total: 6.25 Tjamal9106 Pose: 7 Face: 8 Styling: 7 Composition: 6 This is another improvement for you. Week to week you have gotten better and you are one of the people I want to see each week. Although the pose is simple, it works. Men’s poses in real fashion ads are usually fairly simple, and in this competition when you deliver a simple pose you can sometimes get punished for it, but when you do simple pose you have to deliver in face and styling, and I think you did that. The eye contact with the viewer while touching the tiger enhances the story. I want to know what you are thinking. I lowered the composition score because the tiger couldn’t fit on the edge of that couch, but otherwise it’s a strong photo. Total: 7 Manon Pose: 6 Face: 8 Styling: 7 Composition: 5 I think the pose is a bit safe, but I do like the interaction with the Tiger and it at least creates some visually appealing angles, but it could have been pushed a bit further. The mug is great, the little inhale you are doing works well. I think the dress choice works, but I would have liked to see maybe your hair slicked back with this look. You are giving us a fabulous canvas for a beautiful necklace but didn’t give us a necklace. I’m not sure if I love that or hate it, but I guess that makes for a good photo because I am thinking about it. I get what you were going for with the background, but there are a few things that just contradict themselves so I lowered the score. The inside foliage works, but when combined with the fallen columns and mirror/bookshelves it overwhelms the image a bit. Total: 6.5 Vanili Pose: 6 Face: 8 Styling: 8 Composition: 4 I think this pose could have been pushed a bit further. The neck needed to be extended a bit and the back leg not hidden in the fabric. If that back leg was maybe straightened out going off the bottom right side of the image that could have been a stronger pose. The face is amazing and pulls the focus for sure which is great. I love the print and the red nails. Maybe some jewelry like an arm band or bangles to finish the look but otherwise great. The composition though…… The tiger goes both directions, The background is too dark, and therefore the story isn’t that strong. If you had fixed the tiger AI flaw, and just lightened the background a bit this had so much potential. Total: 6.5 Zee_ Pose: 7 Face: 6 Styling: 8 Composition: 6 I like the pose, but wish you hadn’t cut off your legs in the crop. It impacts the pose score and the composition score a bit. But the use of the angle and the tiger above you is smart and makes your photo stand out. If your eyes were open more so we could see you making eye contact with the tiger that would have elevated the face and the overall story of the photo. The rest of the mug is mugging! A brighter background as well may have helped too. Total: 6.75 Amandasings04 Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 8 Composition: 7 The pose could have been giving more high fashion model here. The face is always so hard for me to judge when you choose to do indoor sunglasses. Like I understand the vibe you were going for which is why the styling score is good, but I just don’t think it works when you are modeling and want to be recognized. The cheekbones and jawline are strong in your profile though. The composition of the photo is good with great balance with where everything is placed. I just wish the lighting enhanced the photo better. You find the light great, but it glosses over things in the image. This may be an upload issue because last week I didn’t like Guilty’s photo when I saw it on the website, but when I saw the real version it was much clearer so not sure if that is the same here. Total: 6.75 Marilise Pose: 4 Face: 8 Styling: 8 Composition: 6 This is your first miss for me. My eye is completely drawn to the awkward legs and not in the good way. There is the intentional model awkward that I am a huge fan of because it gives high fashion editorial, but this looks stiff and draws attention to the crotch area where the dress is falling strangely. The face is strong and kind of giving Zendaya vibes. The styling is great overall because you actually matched your make up and hair style to the look and the vibe, and I have been waiting for a model to slick back their hair because it elevates the high fashion editorial look a lot. The composition score is lower because the tiger is too long, and the story isn’t all that clear to me. Total: 6.5 Marquis Pose: 6 Face: 9 Styling: 8 Composition: 8 I was hoping folks would take the white tiger approach and make it work. I ranked the pose a 6 only because you cut both the feet off but otherwise it is really strong. AI loves to cut the feet out of photos because it hates doing them. Sometimes it works for the photo but here I would have loved to see your full length. The face is the best all season I think. THANK you for using the blue you did for the couch paired with the white/silver it elevates the photo a lot, and making the tiger actually fierce I’m surprised no one else did that yet (some others did after reviewing all the photos, but not many). Total: 7.75 LeQuishaQ Pose: 6 Face: 7 Styling: 7 Composition: 6 I think me critiquing this photo directly after Marquis is not going to do you a favor here because he had the same concept but executed it the right way. I still like this photo, but the pose is not appealing because I think the knee is too high. Without being able to see your legs it is unclear why the knee is that high and for me my eye goes right to that in the photo. Face and styling were both decent overall, but both have elements that could score 9 but then some elements that just take things away from the strength of the photo ( example: mixing fabrics with the dress plus the fur , the dress having AI bulbs to make the snow flakes is a bit tacky ☹) The fog you are blowing out I think could have worked if executed better. I think it’s one of those things that can be really hard with AI, and I’m sure you spent a lot of time trying to get it right, but it might have been better to scrap the idea even though I bet you really wanted that to be the selling point of the image. It just missed the mark for me. I also wish the background was more like Marquis to give a bit more elegance. Total: 6.5 GuiltyAsSin Pose: 7 Face: 8 Styling: 8 Composition: 8 Ok this is a striking photo for sure. The pose is the most interesting of the group and I was hoping someone would take it here, BUT I do think it crossed a bit too far into hooch territory. Like Tyra always said “hoe, but make it fashion.” I think this is right on the edge of being a bit too pin up for me. I think it is because the dress falls in a way I can see your hip crease, and it makes your booty seem a bit larger than it should be for your body (I would never shame a big booty, but for this particular look it just looks bigger than it should). With all of that said this is still a top tier image. The face is good, styling fits both the brief and the culture well, and the brightness and setting of the photo stand out among the pack in a good way! Total: 7.75 Melanie Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 5 The pose is fine, but the legs sit a bit strangely for me. The face in this image makes you look a lot older for some reason, and you look slightly bored. I think you try for pretty but forget to model with the face. I like the dress but some of the details are hard to see due to the lighting. I would score the styling higher if I could see it better without zooming really far in. The lighting, the tiger size, and lack of paws takes the composition score down, but mainly the lighting for me. Your photo going directly after Guilty’s makes it hard for me to not score this composition low because the lighting is so dramatically different. I do like the inclusion of the tail of the tiger I don’t think anyone else did that the same way, but it got so dark in that corner I almost missed that. I got to see your film and you had so many better options to pick from that could have put you near the top of my rankings, but this particular photo choice confused me because if this is what you thought was your best, I wonder if you have what it takes to make a deep run this season. The potential is there because you had great film, but I think you need to step out of your comfort zone and deliver photos that stand out and go beyond trying to just look pretty and instead start to model! Total: 5.75 SpaceLab Pose: 7 Face: 9 Styling: 7 Composition: 5 Ok this pose is simple but again for men this works well. It gives a powerful impression and takes charge of the photo. The face is striking and strong and works very well for you! One of the best all season. I like the chain, but some of the detailing on your outfit wasn’t executed that well. The overall composition was hurt a lot by the tiger getting half cut off, and the money on the floor doesn’t do it for me. I get the vibe you were going for, but I actually think the look you are giving and the outfit would have told the story better without the prop. Total: 7 CupidStunt Pose: 6 Face: 7 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 Ok hear me out, the pose is VERY high fashion, BUT being on the tiger makes the execution of the pose not work for me. If you had been on the couch with that pose, and the tiger be laying on the ground in front of you I think that would have been much better. The face is good, but I wish I got more neck from the pose it would have helped the face. Styling and composition were very average but nothing bad about them besides maybe the tiger looking a bit wonky beneath the dress. Total: 6.25 Antog Pose: 8 Face: 8 Styling: 7 Composition: 6 When I isolate the elements of the photo you stand out in the face, the pose, and overall styling, but for some reason the combination of everything just didn’t land completely for me so the composition score was lowered. I think the frame of the couch being the same molding as the wall, and the same white in your hair as the sheet below you didn’t quite add up for me. The photo is still very good but I think a few small tweaks that would help the balance of the phot may have made it top photo for me. The tiger giving more fierceness could have helped too. Total: 7.25 Fancy Pose: 7 Face: 7 Styling: 7 Composition: 6 I think this is a good photo. I wish the pose had a bit less symmetry to it to make it more high fashion, but it is good. I'm not sure if you will get docked by the judges for not being on the couch? IDK. The face is great and giving a high fashion model energy. I think the styling was good and creative but could have been pushed just a bit further to be even more effective. I do like the bowl of milk it’s a cute detail. The chain connecting you to the tiger should have been longer and the tiger kind of loses it’s size near its backside so that lowered the composition score. Otherwise great job! Total: 6.75 Guilty: 7.75 Marguis: 7.75 Antog: 7.25 TJ: 7 Space: 7 Zee: 6.75 Amanda: 6.75 Fancy: 6.75 Quisha: 6.5 Vanili: 6.5 Manon: 6.5 Marilise: 6.5 Cupid: 6.25 Miranda: 6.25 Melanie: 5.75
