I feel deeply disappointed—and honestly angry—when gay men participate in misogyny, because being marginalized doesn’t excuse reproducing the same harm. Big Brother has shown us, painfully clearly, that oppression isn’t a free pass to punch down.
We’ve seen gay men demean, dismiss, and weaponize sexism against women on the show while still positioning themselves as morally superior.
Daniel Durston (BB24) is a glaring example: a gay man who aggressively targeted Taylor Hale, speaking to her with cruelty and entitlement, then hiding behind his own marginalization when called out. His treatment of Taylor wasn’t strategy—it was misogyny.
JC Mounduix (BB20) repeatedly crossed boundaries with women, making invasive comments about their bodies and autonomy, behavior that was brushed aside far too easily.
Todrick Hall (Celebrity Big Brother 3) was perhaps the most egregious: relentlessly tearing down Shanna Moakler, slut-shaming her, questioning her worth, and leading a house-wide pile-on. Watching a gay man gleefully degrade a woman—especially one who had been loyal—was stomach-turning.
