🏁 THE ULTIMATE RACER A 21-day competition that ends in two final races to crown the Ultimate Champion. 💪 Phase 1: The Grind (20 Days) How It Works ➤ Just play Race. ➤ The events team tracks points. ➤ Only your best 20 races during the 20-day window count toward your score. ➤ A weekly leaderboard can be posted at the end of each week. ⚡ How You Earn Points There are two ways to score points in each race. 1) Placement Points ➤ Your finishing position earns you base points: • 1st place – 5 points • 2nd place – 4 points • 3rd place – 3 points • 4th place – 2 points • 5th place – 1 point • 6th and onward – 0 points 2) Expectation Points However, winning isn’t everything in this competition. Since you never know who your partner will be, the average skill level of a team should matter. Using available data—such as PPG, rank, reputation, and historical performance (with @sin likely having access to all-time high scores)—each team is assigned a predicted placement from 1st to 10th: ➤ 1st = strongest team (the favorite) ➤ 10th = weakest team (the underdog) Expectation Point Rules ➤ For every spot you outperform your expected placement: +1 Expectation Point ➤ For every spot you underperform your expected placement: −1 Expectation Point 📊 Examples ➤ If @dream and @style are paired together, a team who would mop the floor with just about any other team, and they win: • They earn 5 Placement Points • Since they were expected to win, they earn 0 Expectation Points ➤ If that same team finishes 2nd: • They LOSE 1 Expectation Point • The team could potentially LOSE a maximum of 9 Expectation Points (for receiving 10th rather than their expected 1st) • Their total points for the game would be 5 for winning, but a whopping -9 for getting 10th. ➤ If a team is predicted to finish 5th but ends up winning: • They earn 5 Placement Points • Plus 4 Expectation Points for beating expectations • The total points earned for the game would be 9. Both members of the team would receive 9 points towards their point total, assuming that is within their best 20 races • As you can see, this team receives more points than @dream and @style because we won AND exceeded expectations. This system rewards consistency, smart play, and outperforming projections—not just stacked teams. 🏁 Phase 2: The Championship (1 Day · 2 Games) Who Qualifies ➤ The top 20 players with the highest cumulative score from Phase 1 ➤ Only points from your best 20 races count ➤ Phase 1 points do not carry over The Final Test ➤ Two championship races ➤ The same exact cast both times, enrolled by @sin ➤ Partners each game will be different to ensure a victor can be crowned. Deciding a Winner ➤ Have the highest average placement across the two games, regardless of partner. The favorites will be clear after Game 1 (the winners of that game)—but it’s still possible for another racer with a stronger average across both games to take the crown. 🏆 The End THE ULTIMATE RACER A format designed to reward skill, effort, and smart racing—while giving everyone a reason to keep playing, and a reason to be excited by a teammate who might be lackluster in comps. After all, it's an opportunity to show your capacity to carry and ultimately earn more points. On the other hand, having a good partner still feels great, but it comes with risk: don't underperform your skill level! Happy racing! Let's do it.
