My name is Neferuaten, better known as Nefertiti.
I was born around 1370 BC, during the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt. I was the Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten (also known as Amenhotep IV), who reigned from approximately 1353 BC to 1336 BC.
During his reign, he promoted a religious revolution by replacing the traditional worship of the Egyptian gods with the monotheistic cult of the sun god Aten. Together, we ruled during a period of great cultural and religious change.
I had at least six daughters: Meritaten, Meketaten, Ankhesenpaaten (who later married Tutankhamun), Neferneferuaten Tasherit, Neferneferure, and Setepenre.
My role went beyond that of a wife; I actively participated in religious ceremonies and was represented with equal authority to the pharaoh. My bust, found in Amarna, is one of the most iconic artifacts in Egyptian history.
The ultimate fate of my life is a mystery, with various theories suggesting that I may have briefly ruled as pharaoh after Akhenaten's death or that I died shortly after his reign.
My legacy remains a symbol of beauty, feminine power, and historical enigma.
