Not only was today’s mass shooting an assault on Australia and its people, but it was an attack on Jews all over the world. To target a synagogue’s Chanukah event, held on the first night of Chanukah, is a clear antisemitic message and attack. This is by far not the first attack on a synagogue or Jewish community in recent times and sadly I’m sure it won’t be the last. Absolute gratitude to those who risked their lives to disarm the shooter. Prayers to them, the victims, the families of all involved, Australia, and Jews all around the world. Happy Chanukah 🕎
