DNTM Season 2 Photo 3 Critiques

Some interesting difficulties in the judging today. I found it hard to rank the photos because some I liked but do think the judges may score low because of not matching the requirements enough.... https://www.kovaze.com/group_thread/80 Maris: Not your strongest entry. The track suit is giving Katy Perry in space. You rock that bob but the facial expression is so similar to last week I would love to see more versatility in the upcoming weeks. Jane: There is that hair I was hoping to see last week. I also love the choice to add a heal to the look, I was wondering if someone would take it there. You pointed that leg toward the camera which does make it look short, but somehow you managed to keep enough length to look OK. Good photo overall. Cristi: Well the hair is my all time favorite hair, and the overall styling of the look is good, but I wonder if you had changed the color of the seats if that would have helped the composition of the photo. Also, I’m not sure if the outfit is track suit enough for the judges, but I like it. lluckygc: This is a cute photo. Its not high fashion or editorial, its very Instagram. I don’t dislike the photo, but its safe, and as you get further in the competition safe won’t cut it. You will want to study up on some high fashion looks and poses to enhance your future photos. Also this pose makes you look very short. Brat: styling is great to match the street theme, but I do think the judges will hit you for the jeans. I do enjoy you took a risk with the pose to make it stand out from the other girls, but the way the jacket is falling eliminates all shape and it's also not really being displayed well. Also, why is there a small fire behind you like go put it out before you burn your weave. Medusaluh: I enjoy you in this photo a lot. The styling is good, your look is very high fashion here. My issue is the background not exactly making sense with the model/styling. It looks like you are watching an old time gladiator fight but there’s a modern day business women taking calls directly behind you? The good news is you have a strong enough pose and look to make me notice all the weird stuff going on AFTER I notice you, but those fine details will be what eliminated models late in the competition, so tighten it up! Bubba: the angle at which this photo is taken makes me almost dizzy. If I try to ignore that fact, you look good and I enjoy the pose and styling. I think you could do more with the face here, but overall it’s a decent photo. Sprite: very on brand for you, but I fear the judges may not like this ‘track suit’. The overall composition of the photo is great, and the face is stunning, but I am not a huge fan of the bottom leg in your pose. You are squishing the healed boot (which I love by the way) and it's just positioned at an odd angle. Minor thing, but those things will matter as the competition heats up! misskant: although there is nothing outstanding about this photo, it all somehow comes together to work for me. The track suit is well designed, the look is good, the pose is alright, the shoes can be burnt and never seen again, but you get major points because those look like the stands at Wimbledon. Overall safe photo this week. GatoPisado: This is giving Justina Valintine vibes which I’m not exactly sure is a good thing. With that said, I love the track suit design, and the orange hair paired with the pink clashes in the best way. I think the purse could have been taken out, and if that bottom leg had that knee pointed inward a bit more so we didn’t get quite as much vag in this shot, this becomes a top photo for me. KaliMinaj: body looks hot, pose makes you look very long, usually photos from this angle would make you lose neck but you are giving us some good extension there. The foot is sort of floating and a bit too close to frame so it does kind of pull focus, I would have loved to see what this looked like with a stiletto. Overall lovely photo and I anticipate another top 5 placement here. Antog: a significant improvement from last week. Way to not get lost in the pack. The styling is good, I like the pose, and the added graffiti was a nice touch. I do wish the light that is catching your hair was catching your face a bit more, and the chain necklace is half under the hood half over which is possible but slightly distracting, but overall I really enjoy this photo! Akaliuchis: The track suit being a velvet fabric I enjoy and is different than the other models. I enjoy the color because it compliments the hair and the background seat color pulls well together. I do wish I could see your other leg fully in frame, and your eye make up in the lighting makes them look closed. I think with some minor fixes there this would have been a great photo. Manyomash: I like the styling of the track suit and sports bra look. I also love the hair and accessories. I have one minor issues with the photo. The hair getting cut off by the collar looks a bit unnatural/strange. It’s the first thing my eye was drawn to. I think if you had brought the hair forward more and put it over the collar that might have been better.
