DNTM S2 EP7: Unwanted Opinions

NicoRobin 5 hours ago34 views

I know I have been in and out on this, but I have been mentally drained so if I get a burst of motivation I'm going to take a chance <3. Prompt: Modern office where power, confidence, and authority were the main focus. Embody true "boss energy" and other things I probs will miss but does my opinion matter? Not really, but I'm going to give it anyway <3 #DNTM2 Maris: I do not think the pose and the setting are matching. I see your vision, but it is not connecting. I think the people in the background is too busy and it is a bit distracting and your face is giving a stern, "did you jam the copier vibes" I think the image would be better if you were behind a desk doing it and doing a strong upper body pose and having a nice window landscape background. I do love the suit and the shoulder pad outfit. and the all black look is nice, but the lighting throws it off. You have the pieces, but they are not for the correct puzzle. Jane: I know you have had strong photos before and maybe this is your vulnerability week because this felt week. It is giving very 90's but I just think you needed more oomf...more ooooo....more wammmmm....more pizza rolls. The picture gives bring your daughter to work day and you are at your mom's (because women can be CEO's) office and you are sitting in her chair while she is at a meeting. I don't see the energy in your face. Maybe I am seeing this more of like an 90's add for selling an outfit and it is trying to fun, but I don't think that is what the prompt was looking for. I feel like with your hair style, this could have been such a powerful picture for you this week, but instead it is like a little buzz. Like a dark onyx background gloss with blood red nails and powerful suit (I do love the outfit). You stare at the camera with beaming eyes and the phones are all at you because you are important and the arms are all in fancy attire. WAIT! The image is giving "Don't Tell Mom the Baby Sitter is Dead" vibes. Long story short, I wanted more. <3 BRAT: I know people have made comments before about distance in photos cause they want to get up close so they get real personal and see your nostrils or some shit and I am mixed on that. For this one, I somewhat agree. I think you should have zoomed in a bit because the lady on the left (Sheila) is tacky and I heard she was spreading rumors that you were a Cootie Queen Lint Licker and you shouldn't have her in the photo. But in serious I wish you did just to get a better glimpse of you but I do understand why you have the photo looking like that. I do love the dynamic of the photo and clearly you stand out from the rest of the background models which makes it seem you have higher authority of them. I'm not the best with era outfits so please whack me if I am wrong, but is your outfit the same era as the background people? If not I wish it was like Joan from Mad Men. If they ever allowed someone to be the head of the company, it should have been her, and you are giving that vibe. Now is it giving "boss energy" I don't know, but you are almost at the top of the company. I do love the pose. I know Sheila is pissed off you knocked over her stuff for the picture. I also love the 50's vibe you did. Hate the racism in the era, but love the esthetic. One little thing and this is just me being silly. I wish the workers were all men because having a woman dominate in a field over men is just sexy. Medusaluh: Clearly you are the boss of a fashion place. I just know Vogue, Prada, Gucci, and Devil Wears Prada. I am a fan of the papers in the air but part of me wishes you had someone like an assistant there kinda freaking out you doing that because that is something a boss would do. As much as I love the hat, I do not think it is the most appropriate in the building. It causes a deep shadow on your face and we lose that. I like the pose, but I do notice that a foot goes into the table...so that is um a bit awkward. Be careful of those little details. Speaking of little details, I notice the coffee cup is perfectly fine while you are scattered on the desk and I just feel like that should be knocked over or just removed in general. It just bothered me a bit. Besides that, good job. Sprite: I really enjoy the pose and the atmosphere that this photo brings, but does it showcase boss though? Ehhh I don't know. If the background models didn't look similar we would have a problem because to me it could be a regular employee saying screw this and stands on the desk saying I am tired of our boss and everyone is like OMG how dare she say that. It is just those little details matter where if you remove them, the image is still the same. We need it where if you remove them, there is a big difference. I know before you have been very detailed with background stuff and I think you are trying to find that happy medium goldilocks just right spot and I know you will get there. Besides that, good job! MissKant: You are the opposite of what I said to Sprite. You have a bit too much where if you removed some things I think we would still get the idea. Now if the prompt was to do a cover for a magazine, you would have done amazing, but that wasn't the prompt. With that being said, I love the pose and how are you positioned in the photo. The contrast between you and the employees is nice too. The way you threw the paper or whatever that is, I find a bit off, but that is just me. The only other thing I would fix/change is the other workers/additional models. They seem lifeless, which I guess is fine but I think they should be looking at you instead of straight at each other. Seems awkward. KaliMinaj: I really love this. The sunset, the pantsuit matching it, and the pose. It is giving image that is about to be used for a magazine for successful CEO's. Something about the outfit being a bit loose/baggy I like. I think the prompt said sharp tailoring, but, suits get hot and shit, you need breathing room. If I saw this, I would want to apply to your company, I would invest my $5 to whatever you are doing, I would do whatever because you have the look. Great job! (as everyone hates this and I threaten Dimitra to give you instant immunity because I love it). Antog: This is really good: The shades is a nice touch because we don't know if you forgot to do your eye makeup, hungover, or you don't have eyes, but either way it is very striking. There is something about this pose that is tearing me apart though. I like it but part of me wants you at the end of the table sitting in a powerful position because the way you look. I think either is fine, but I think I see power or "boss" in a sitting in a chair position than this, but that is my personal preference. I don't know how I feel about the background models. They kind of creep me out in regards of them staring at me. Maybe less of them. Overall though, great job, nice touches and I know you own 52% of the company and next week it will be 53% akaliuchis: A lot is happening in this photo and we lose you. The lighting is a bit off with your dark colors which is a shame because I do like the choices you made with your outfit and hair. I am not getting boss vibes sadly. I am getting secretary sadly and you are very very very grumpy cause you have to answer all of these calls. The pose is a bit interesting. It gives I have to pee vibes, but I have been on the phone for 2 hours straight and I don't think I will get a break soon. I do love the death stare though, but I just think it a bit of a miss that just needed some cleaning up. manyomash: This is an interesting perspective of how the photo is taken and I appreciate you going outside that box. Did it hit the mark though? Almost. Maybe the other way around where the angle is from a top perspective and have your assistant be closer to you. If I wasn't aware of the prompt, I would just think he was just another worker. Maybe add additional items to make him look like he is with you than just working in the office. The outfit is great and makes you stand out from everyone else which is good. Idk how the judges will see this because of the perspective, but I appreciate the risk and I hope it pays off. One note is a small detail I notice with the shoe that is being shown. Is it supposed to be a heel? If so, you are missing the heel part. If not, then the foot angle is weird for a flat. TREND ALERT: Throwing Paper Rankings: 1st: Kali 2nd: Antog 3rd: BRAT 4th: MissKant 5th: Sprite 6th: Manyomash 7th: Medusaluh 8th: Jane 9th: Maris 10th: Akaliuchis
