Aubry stan weighs in

Don't get me wrong Aubry is one of my favorite contestants ever in 50 seasons, but I am also not a delusional "she can do no wrong" typa bitch that can't see her downsides. And I just wanna say, she is not translating good on tv at all this time around.....the half baked analogies, the dry "resume building" confessionals, the gamebottyness....it's just not really resonating with me. I think a lot of the appeal for Aubry is that she can be really neurotic, lacks social awareness, and operates most chaotically when she is fighting for her life. But when Aubry is happy and things are going right for her and she's aware of herself and that she's on a tv show....it just starts to get a little awkward and cringey. I'd rather her say nothing than to make up something that isn't worth saying or try to analyze a situation where there's no analysis needed. And I think part of it is producers realizing "oh my god she's taking control and we need to be able to convey that to the viewers effectively" but it comes across from a viewer's perspective as "oh god, they're trying so hard to make her seem like a mastermind, and they're really ramping up the sob story backstories, and she's back to talking about ducks and astronauts and weddings and volcanoes to try and sound cool" Like I would totally rather her just be stank and quiet and controlling in a villainous way than to see this "heroic" turn around where she's in charge of EVERYTHING (even when she literally isn't???) and has the game wrapped around her finger. Of course I still want my good sis to win, but I am disappointed in how she was edited in these last two episodes especially. BUT STILL YAY FOR THE BOOKS POTENTIALLY BEING BALANCED FROM HER KAOH RONG DEFEAT.
