How would you rank the 2010s?

Not from a personal perspective but a world overview. Imo (From worst to best): 10. 2016 - Really shitty year. A lot of celebrity deaths. Notably Christina Grimmie, I remember the blogs page on that day and it being all anyone talked about. The start of Instagram polish. Life feels like before/after 2016 and we were sent into a hellhole timeline afterwards. 9. 2018 - You know a year was boring when Fortnite was the only thing making cultural waves for half the time. Tiktok gained popularity and apps. Kind of a khia year. 8. 2019 - The Khia-est of years. I can't remember a single thing that happened in 2019. It was the calm before the storm. We had peace before we had hell, and for that I am somewhat grateful for her. 7. 2015 - Not a terrible year, we got some iconic trends. Black and Blue dress etc. We also got some really shitty ones. This was the year Old YouTube felt officially dead and was instead replaced by a viral sensation machine. It was 2016 in its infancy, before it decided to go down the wrong path. Also the start of a lot of political unrest. 6. 2017 - I'm not going to lie, the only reason it's this high is because of the music. It had a sort of naïve recession-pop (but make it very mainstream) vibe to it. We really thought 2015/2016 was a struggle, not knowing what was ahead! Also this was the last year before every popstar and their mama cosplayed as an indie artist for the next 3 years. 5. 2014 - The OG pop girlies were dominating it this year. Katy Perry with Dark Horse, Taylor with Blank Space, and Ariana rising in popularity. The only reason it's not higher is because it was also the death of trashy club pop and I can never forgive her for that. But she had to do what she had to do. Everything just had a good vibe imo. 4. 2012 - The last notable Olympics games. The world was slowly recovering from the great recession & there was a lot of hope for good things to come. It would be #1 on the list of the world actually ended here but we ended with a bit of a let down. 3/2. 2010/2011 - The final years before the true death of the dance floors. Millennials were being trashy as fk, Zillenials were getting fed with Nintendo consoles and games, and Blackberries were completely dying out in favour of apple (which in retrospect was a mistake but at the time felt so glamorous and advanced). Anyways you had to be alive for this era and I do wish I was a bit older for it but alas. 1. 2013 - Everything was perfect. Music, YouTube, the economy was recovering to pre-crash levels, political unrest hadn't hit yet, Social media was advancing but still obscure and unpolished, it was just THE year. I wish every year could be 2013. You had to be there to get it.
