Hey king. I understand your viewpoint i really do! However, detransitioning is really such a low percentage of the population. MANY trans people discover their identity early, and the years between getting surgery and not is really detrimental to the mental health of these youth.
I get where you’re coming from, but the “save the kids/think of the children!” Arguement is really invalid when the other option is self mutilation, self harm, or even suicide.
I really implore you to read the stories of those who have detransitioned, and then explore the stories of those who transitioned younger.
Unfortunately everyone is a different person, but a life that detransitioned isn’t greater than one that transitioned and stayed.
I love you bro. Please look into some studies on the mental health aspect of transitioning.
With LOVE! -Tide
Tide I appreciate this so much, and I agree with every single thing you said here, but just because it's a small % doesn't mean it's a small number. The reason it hurts so bad is because I can imagine being in one of these kids shoes. I can imagine a kid being too scared to tell their parents they changed their mind because of the financial investment that was already put forward.
It tears me up inside to think that there are people out there having to live the rest of their lives with a decision they made at a very young age.
Someone from here has reached out saying that they had things forced upon them as a child without their consent and they'll never be able to have children because of it and that they appreciate and support what I said but are too scared to come forward with their story out of fear of being cancelled.
DanceMonkey i totally get what you mean. The thing about this topic is it really hits close to home, because it involves our self and our identity. It’s really important that we remember during this debate, however, that gender affirming care is medical care as well. Think about how pharmacutical drugs are developed. Trials and phases. Some people may get sick? Some may die? Some may wish they never signed up for the trial in the first place. However, it’s all done with the extent of supporting the life of the many.
I do believe that there should be more rigorous consultations and a standardized care plan for minors, but denying them care altogether seems unfair.
I do want to say that each person’s individual experience differs, but a negative experience can’t always eliminate the good that has come.
I feel like there are many analogies to make here, but at the end of the day we aren’t fighting. We’re debating, and I hope to maybe speak with you privately some books and verses from the bible that support what i’m saying.
DanceMonkey there are so many layers of issue with this logic.
1. we’re using the word sterilized, referring to the inability to reproduce. you’re directly stating causality. they’re killing themelves BECAUSE they’re infertile/sterilized? that’s a super specific line of thinking of which i struggle to see any practical examples.
2. even if there were practical examples, i have absolutely no doubt the amount would be seriously insignificant when compared to the number of trans youth who attempt suicide because of developments in puberty or restricted access to gender affirming care.
3. who is being “tricked”? that implies a lot of nefarious intentions in people other than the youth. who is doing this tricking? how are they being tricked? i absolutely agree there are people who detransition and kill themselves because of what they experienced or what they felt they lost by transitioning. that doesn’t mean those who detransitioned or had those regrets were tricked
4. practially and ethically, you can’t simultaneously appeal
to the value in THOSE lost lives while minimizing the significantly higher amount of trans lives lost because of inaccessibility, and, perhaps more importantly, interpersonal violence from people who see trans people as threats to children because of this line of thinking. i know you would not do that, but it is the same school of thought.
i do not think you’re an evil or bigoted person, but i do think your words and this position are extremely harmful. this is not a condemnation on you as a whole. i’m sure your heart is in the right place and this opinion is well intended, but it causes more harms than i think you realize
sobriquet I appreciate this and I'm sorry for finding myself standing on such shaky ground when it comes to this topic. It's truly rooted in me being able to see myself in their shoes. I can imagine them being terrified to tell their parents they changed there mind because of the time and money already invested and social pressures. It literally gives me such an anxiety attack thinking about a kid feeling like their stuck in a box like that.
Someone from here has reached out saying that they had things forced upon them as a child without their consent and they'll never be able to have children because of it and that they appreciate and support what I said but are too scared to come forward with their story out of fear of being cancelled.
RandyBandy I understand and agree with that, my concern is mainly with the fact the child might be too scared to tell the parents or doctor that they've changed their mind out of fear.
Nick Bravo, great job at framing what I said in a false light.
Yes, I'd rather Nazi's and racists be allowed to freely be themselves so we don't have to go through life wondering if our friends and families think this way and are just too scared to be themselves.
DanceMonkey if they wanna read the whole thing they can. I wanted to frame the most SHOCKING part. The rest does NOT save it. Believe me. Stop backpeddaling. You showed us who you are. Just own it.
DanceMonkey you're a fucking loser who tries to buy friends whilst making women on the site deeply uncomfortable. Yeah, they have talked to me about it. Weird creep. Touch grass and do some real introspection. But yeah resort to toddler insults. I'll end you every time. My words hit hard because they are real.
Nick I'm really glad to know Cherry has shared her creepy fanfiction about me, I have apologized profusely for asking to see her tits when I was a minor. I've been apart of this community since I was 12 and you're nothing new. You're literally the Kovaze equivalent of Sandizzle, you're a psychopathic crybully that is so insecure about change that you have to resort to trying to bully and harass anyone who even has a slightly different view than you.
Goodbye and Good Riddance.

trans rights!
to be fair i dont know what we expected from someone who thinks dance monkey is a masterpiece of a song
i would rather trans kids be infertile than dead
sobriquet and what about the ones that change there mind once they mature and kill themselves because they got tricked into sterilizing themselves?

oh i didnt know you were like this....disappointed
Cold wheres the line? How old do you think someone should have to be before making a life altering decision?
DanceMonkey i think their family and doctor can decide that.
RandyBandy I understand and agree with that, my concern is mainly with the fact the child might be too scared to tell the parents or doctor that they've changed their mind out of fear.
what is with you people and just wanting to be as loud as possible all the time
RandyBandy I just want to help people see fighting fire with fire isn't the answer.
why on earth if you feel this way do u have malibu and fairytales added as friends
Sprite because I love them and stand with them?

Nick I do own it and I've never hidden who I am or what I believe. Crybully wannabe Halloween.
