Autism discourse is so toxic, acting like the world is going to pause every time you get overwhelmed or lack the skills to navigate the situation you're in. I'm autistic, I get it, but the world doesn't stop for anyone and if that's your expectation in life you're not going to make it.

"Masking" like there's a problem. High functioning autistic adults aren't going to have the world handed to them on a silver platter, in order to function you have to be able to interact with other people appropriately. I know it's hard for some people but it's not a bad thing to be able to get through the day instead of flopping every time you're expected to have daily living skills.
