Bringing this format idea back from a former blog

Long Game Forma Idea Based on the challenge. Lets say a cast of 15 Round 1 Everyone plays a comp. top 3 scores become inner circle, but everyone gets points based on their rank in the challenge. (1 point for last place, 2 for second to last, etc) winner always gets 15 no matter how many players left in the game. Then the loser of the challenge is automatically nominated and the inner circle picks their opponent for elimination. Whoever wins the elimination challenge steals all accumulated points from the loser. Rounds 2-12 The inner circle is based on top 3 cumulative points. So basically you can’t stay in inner circle all game without going into elimination and stealing someone else’s points. Because even if you win every daily comp eventually those who had to go into elimination and steal points will pass you. This will also force inner circle to strategically pick elimination opponents on point totals while balancing out alliances as well. You may WANT to send your friend into an elimination that they could win so they steal someone's points and become safe for a few rounds in the inner circle. Also, let’s say you have accumulated top rank points but happen to lose a daily challenge, you still go into elimination. This could shake up inner circles too. Top 3 make final and compete in either a final challenge that’s not like any other comp, or maybe one round of each comp where you get points for placements and the winner of the final is the one who scored the most points (just in that final challenge not the season totals) I originally thought it may be too complicated for this site, but seeing some of the things that have been done since I posted this it is very possible!

I like the idea and it being a longer game with say 12 hour cycles would allow for everyone to make sure they play the comp and game. I guess my only concern is how to speed it up ever so slightly so there’s not a break between eliminations. Also like the idea of a “final” being like a set of comps and earning points based on position. There should be I think some more social or maybe randomized aspect to it so it’s not just a form of arena

Ethan Well the social element is in the inner circle choosing opponents. There would be social strategy but also strategy based on the comp and the point values. I have run a lot of simulations in this format and there have been times were a player can make it all the way to the last elimination without going in. IIIIIIIf you add the caveat that the winner of the challenge is also immune even if they aren't in the inner circle, then technically someone can make it to the end without going into an elimination. The last couple the inner circle would have to be down to 2 people only though.
